Brothers Jared and James Priestner went on a trip to the Carribbean, decided to form a band and write songs there and then. Rare Americans is therefor a spontaneous project, but one that proved very succesful: the band has millions of followers over all possible social networks and millions of views on YouTube. Rare Americans are telling their stories directly to anyone who wants — or needs — to listen. These tales are easy to relate to for anyone who’s been down or has struggled to keep up, yet are also laced with devilish optimism and hope. The bands effortlessly combines influences from pop, punk, ska, hip hop and Vancouver-style balkan beats. The animated video’s are equal masterpieces and thanks to musicians Lubo Ivan, Jan Cajka and Duran Ritz the live shows are jolts of positive energy.
