Aghogho is the music project of Caro Abutoh, who recently released her debut EP ‘17’. Together with Simon Pas (drums), Michiel Los (guitar), Julia Warmerdam (trumpet), and Caro herself (vocals & bass), Aghogho was formed during a residency at Het Bos (Antwerp). The name Aghogho – Caro’s Nigerian name – means “child of God.”
Caro has been singing from a young age and developed her musical voice during her Kleinkunst studies at the Royal Conservatory of Antwerp. Her sound blends soul and Afropop with funky rhythms, layered vocals, and vibrant afrobeats that make it impossible not to dance. Inspired by artists like Nilüfer Yanya and Zap Mama, her music is warm, rhythmic, and always evolving.
With Aghogho, Caro continues to explore her Nigerian roots and musical curiosity — bringing people together through groove and movement.
