ANAMANAGUCHI

ANAMANAGUCHI

The New York-based band Anamanaguchi takes its distinctly Japanese-inspired name from the members’ shared love of 1980s Japanese video games. Blending traditional instruments—guitar, bass, drums, and vocals—with the iconic sounds of NES and Game Boy consoles, Anamanaguchi creates infectious tracks within the unique genre known as chiptune or nintendocore. Beyond video games, the band draws creative inspiration from pop icons such as Weezer, The Beach Boys, and Janet Jackson, merging nostalgic 8-bit sounds with modern pop sensibilities.
