When the Nigerian-American Annahstasia writes a song, it embodies its own unique world. The self-taught singer-songwriter describes her artistic practice as a realm where fantasy and romance intertwine. Annahstasia's sound is imbued with a rosy hue. She possesses an exceptionally beautiful, distinctive, and versatile voice, which she has honed over the years, drawing inspiration from complex singers like Nina Simone, Bill Withers, and even Janis Joplin or Jeff Buckley. What she delivers may appear to be silky R&B, but it is far more rooted in the tradition of folk.
She crafts warm, heartfelt songs that fully reflect her personality, accompanying herself on guitar. In 2019, she released her first EP in collaboration with singer Raveena. She then toured as a support act for Lenny Kravitz, followed by the release of Revival in 2023.
