Ares is the alter ego of Dutch rapper Rens Ottema. Since his debut album ‘Road Trip’ in 2014, Ares has released a new project just about every year, making him one of the most hard-working rappers in the Netherlands. He has been an independent artist and can do whatever he wants: from running his own clothing line to directing clips and, above all, making quirky music. He chooses to be down to earth and experiment with all kinds of sounds and effects. A hodgepodge of styles, he calls it himself. Usually Ares does not like to be the centre of attention, but when he performs this hodgepodge of styles during his shows, both the artist and his audience go for it 100%.
