ONRUST is a post-metal band from Antwerp, Belgium, known for crafting an intense, dark yet layered sound, interspersed with subdued, clean passages.
In 2018, they independently released their debut album, 'De Oogst', taking full control of every aspect with their pure DIY mentality—from songwriting and production to recording and artwork. The album was met with great enthusiasm, earning them numerous shows across Belgium and the Netherlands.
With each performance, they steadily built their live reputation within the underground scene. Praised as "Belgium's best-kept post-metal secret," they found their way onto bigger stages, such as Antwerp Metal Fest and the aftershow for Cult of Luna at Trix, Antwerp.
In 2020, the band began working on the follow-up to their debut album. Fully focused on songwriting and production, they played only a handful of shows during that period to refine their new material. 'Van Woede tot Wanhoop', set for release in 2025, promises to be an album that will leave no one unmoved. Expect a tight and explosive live performance, where the perfect execution of chiaroscuro takes centre stage—a sonic painting of gloom, despair, and only a glimmer of hope, with just enough light to emphasise the shadows.
