Pelican Dealer was born out of a shared love for music between brothers Jasper and Mats Mulier. What started as a living-room project quickly grew beyond its limits, evolving into a five-piece band with Daan Pyfferoen, Michiel Van Acker, and Dries Janssen. Their sound is built around off-kilter indie rock, often marked by a sense of hidden melancholy.
Since their early shows, Pelican Dealer has created a strong reputation as a live band, known for their characterful and energetic performances. This led to shows at Suikerrock and Kneistival, as well as support slots for XINK, RHEA, Noordkaap, Customs and Zornik, including two opening shows at a sold-out Ancienne Belgique.
After being crowned Sound Track Laureates in 2023, momentum continued to build culminating in the release of their debut EP Tragic Dancing in 2025, celebrated with a sold-out release show at Het Depot in Leuven. For Eyes On The Prize (2026), Pelican Dealer teamed up with producer David Poltrock, focusing on storytelling lyrics, alongside a more defined and often stripped-back musical approach. The songs deal with feelings of alienation, addiction, obsession and escapism, often told through characters who feel disconnected. With Eyes On The Prize, the band’s new sound is set to resonate with a wide audience.
Eyes On The Prize will be presented on Thursday 28 May 2026 at Het Depot in Leuven.
