Shameboy is the artistic persona of Luuk Cox, a talented producer, musician and songwriter. He started his musical career as a drummer for Buscemi and Arsenal, exploring different genres such as Latin, house, jazz, afrobeat and drum ‘n’ bass. Together with Jimmy Dewit he combined those summer vibes with the electronic sounds of Kraftwerk and the Chemical Brothers to create Shameboy. His tracks ‘Rechoque’, ‘Strobot’ and ‘Splend-It’ became beloved dance hits, played at popular festivals and venues such as Werchter, Pukkelpop, Dour and Ancienne Belgique.
In recent years, Shameboy has focused on production work, collaborating with notable artists such as Stromae, Loïc Nottet, Emma Bale, Maaike Ouboter, Compact Disk Dummies, Intergalactic Lovers, Admiral Freebee and Girls in Hawaii. He has also remixed songs by will.i.am, Nicki Minaj and Booka Shade.
